Area of Opportunity (the problem)
Leaving children and youth unsupervised, either after school from 3:00 to 6:30
or when school is not in session, leads to negative behaviors such as
substance abuse, delinquency, and early sexual encounter. The impact of
adolescent substance abuse, juvenile crime, and teen pregnancy and
parenting can put a heavy financial and social burden on the community.
Safe Hands, After School Program
To alleviate this problem, Safe Hands implements safe, structured and
supervised environments in at risk communities as an alternative to the above
activities. Our mission is to never lose sight that are children are the future we
must provide a safe environment for our children and give them proper
guidance. As adults we are obligated to invest in them and help them and
help them become better people.
